Travel to and within Europe

So you found cheap flights to Europe, booked a hotel room, and you think your travel arrangements are almost done. But really, you also need to think about what you’re going to do at your destination. So it is time to plan what you’re going to see, where to go or fly or ride.

Let’s say you’re flying to Barcelona, Spain. And here you are, at Barcelona airport.
How will you get to the hotel?
You’ll need a transfer or a car rental. If you have not driven in Europe, and you need to drive inside Barcelona or other major city, it might be a good idea to take a taxi or bus or hotel transfer. You already were able to find cheap airfare to Europe, so you can afford to pay extra for this portion of a trip and be safe.

Okay, so you finally got to the hotel, what’s next? What part of the city you’d like to see? You’ll need to do some homework yourself or contact a travel agent specializing in European travel to advise you or offer some tours to take. You can book tours through local travel agencies when you arrive as well. All you need to know is what you’d like to see and average tour prices, so you’re not overpaying. Another option you may have is to get acquainted with the city before you go, read reviews of other travelers and do the touring yourself. Take a tourist bus, taxi or local transportation to get you to the famous places. The 2 story tour bus is my favorite! You pay one fee and you can ride around the city with jumping off and on whenever you please.  In addition, this option is the most cost effective.

Now the question is - Is Barcelona the only city you’d be visiting?
If not, how are you going to get to different cities in the same Spain or maybe in a different country too?
There several options again. You may choose local transportation like a bus. You may rent a car if you feel comfortable enough driving it yourself. You may also take a train that will give you a very different experience with a possibility to enjoy views while riding to your next destination. Finally, you may fly. When you’re looking for cheap flights to Europe, you may also check for flights within Europe. Often times agencies, especially online agencies that specialize in European travel would have cheap airfare to Europe and would offer some really good deals within Europe.

In either case, always do your homework, read a lot about the destination, learn things and know prices so you know what is a good deal and what is not.
